BEATRICE – Gage County Sheriff’s Deputies say only minor injuries resulted from a collision between a pickup and a van last Thursday, near Pickrell.

Deputies, Beatrice Fire and Rescue and Pickrell Rural Fire responded to the scene of the accident, near South 5th and East Elm Road.

Authorities say 59-year-old Keith Parde was southbound in a 2004 Ford F-250 pickup, traveling a curve to go east on Elm Road.  A 2006 Toyota van driven by 22-year-old Jordan Horner was westbound on Elm.

The vehicles collided, with the van coming to rest on East Elm Road.  The pickup overturned, coming to rest in the south ditch on the driver’s side.  Parde had minor injuries.   There were four occupants in the van, but none were transported for medical treatment.

Sheriff’s officers said the van occupants were wearing seatbelts, and the Toyota’s front airbags deployed.   The driver of the pickup was not wearing a seatbelt.

The collision happened a few minutes before 9 a.m., Thursday.
