Wangler Gets Visits From Governor, OPD Chief and Others

COLUMBUS – Sgt. Wangler has had several state officials and friends visiting him during his recovery.

Columbus Police Sgt. Brad Wangler has been recovering from gunshot wounds, and CPD remain very positive about the recovery process so far.

“Sgt. Wangler continues to make progress in his recovery. Thanks to everyone throughout the country for the continued support of Sgt. Wangler, his family, and our department,” said the Department on Facebook.

Several of Wangler’s fellow officers took time to take a picture with the recovering sergeant, followed by visits from state and Omaha police officials.

“Thanks to Governor [Pete] Ricketts for taking time to visit Sgt. Wangler and thanks to OPD Chief [Todd] Schmaderer and Deputy Chief [Kerry] Neumann for visiting and providing personnel while in Omaha,” said CPD.

Sergeant Wangler was released from the hospital in Omaha earlier this week.
