Water Project In Sight As Syracuse Begins Budget Talks

The Syracuse City Council is scheduled to begin its budget process Wednesday with a major hurdle in sight.

The city council voted in July to approve a $7.9 million improvement to the city’s fresh water system.

Mayor KC Ortiz and the council will be discussing how to pay for it.

A $5.8 million, 40-year loan and a $2 million grant from the US Department of Agriculture are proposed.
