Winter Storm Watch Issued for Eastern Nebraska

VALLEY, NE — Another winter storm is expected to hit Nebraska.

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Watch for all of eastern Nebraska lasting from 6:00 PM Tuesday through 9:00 AM Wednesday.  The NWS has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for central Nebraska lasting from 6:00 PM Tuesday through 8:00 AM Wednesday.

Snowfall estimates climb the further east you go.  Forecasters say Nebraskans along the Missouri River could get as much as eight inches of snow from this storm.  Norfolk, Columbus and Lincoln are predicted to receive between five and seven inches of snow.

Wind is not expected to be a concern with this system.  Meteorologists say wind gusts won’t exceed 15 miles per hour.

Light snow is expected to start around six PM with the heaviest snow falling around midnight.

The high volume of snow could make travel hazardous and could affect the Wednesday morning commute.
