WESTERN, NE – Weather permitting, work will begin April 1 on the Swan Creek Bridge on Highway 15, south of Western, according to a press release by the Nebraska Department of Transportation.
AM Cohron & Son, Inc., of Atlantic, IA has the $1.33 million project. Work includes removing and replacing the bridge with a pre-stressed girder bridge and approach.
Work also includes new concrete rail, guardrail and grading. During construction, traffic will be detoured onto Nebraska highways 4, 103 and 41.
The project is anticipated to be completed by August 2019. Motorists are urged to drive with extra caution near all highway work zones, along detours and selected alternate routes.
