BEATRICE – A total of seven ranked teams will compete in the MUDECAS girls and boys basketball tournaments Jan. 7-12 in Beatrice.
Class C2 No. 4 Freeman is the top-seed in the boys ‘A’ division bracket and will play No. 8 seed Sterling on Jan. 8 at 6:30 p.m. at the Beatrice Auditorium.
Class D2 No.1 Johnson-Brock and Class D2. No. 2 Falls City Sacred Heart could meet in the semi-finals at 8 p.m. on Jan. 10 at the Beatrice Auditorium. The Eagles, the tournament’s second seed, plays No. 7 seed BDS at 5 p.m. Jan. 8 at the Beatrice Auditorium. The No. 3 seed Irish square off against No. 6 seed Johnson County Central at 3:30.
The boys championship games will be held on Jan. 12 at the auditorium.
Four ranked teams will be competing in the girls ‘A’ division tournament beginning on Jan. 7.
Exeter-Milligan, Class D2 No. 1 and the No. 1 seed, opens with No. 8 seed Meridian at 6:30 p.m. Class D2 No. 4 Falls City Sacred Heart plays Class D1 No. 10 Johnson-Brock at 5p.m. Class D1 No. 5 BDS play Sterling in the first round at 3:30 p.m. Each game will be held at the Beatrice Auditorium.
The auditorium will host both girls championship games on Jan. 11.
