Archbishop Bergan and Lourdes Central Catholic Split Games

NEBRASKA CITY, Neb. – Lourdes Central Catholic and Archbishop Bergan split games Friday night at Nebraska City Lourdes High School.

The Knights jumped out to an 8-0 lead in the boys game and never looked back in a 51-40 win. Sam Baumert had the first five points.

Quinten Vasa led Lourdes with 17 points, while Thomas Ragland added 13.

Bergan was led by the 12 points of Dylan Kucera.

Mackenzie Peitzmeier scored 9 of her game-high 20 points in the third quarter and Bergan defeated the Knights in the girls game, 35-27. Lourdes was outscored 17-9 in the final two periods.

Libby Baumert finished with 10 points.

The Lourdes boys team improves to 3-2, while the girls drop to 3-3. Both teams travel to Johnson on Saturday to play Johnson-Brock. The boys game will feature the #1 (Nebraska City Lourdes) and #3 (Johnson-Brock) teams in Class D1.

Meanwhile, Archbishop Bergan girls (6-1) travel to West Point-Beamer on Tuesday and the boys (4-2) are off until the 21st when they host Mead.
