Auburn blows past Elmwood-Murdock-Nehawka in five innings

AUBURN – Ryne Flynn went 2-2 at the plate, drove in two runs and scored twice, and the Auburn Legion Baseball team coasted past Elmwood-Murdock-Nehawka in five innings Wednesday, 10-1, at Tushla Field in Auburn.

Auburn got the offense started in the first inning on an RBI double from Sam Neiman, part of a two-run inning.

Flynn, Drew Dixon and John Kinnaman all drove-in runs during the third when Auburn tagged on five more runs.

Kinnaman was credited with the victory on the mound. He allowed one run on three hits and struck out seven over four innings.

EMN pitcher Ethan Petersen took the loss. He lasted three innings, allowed five hits and nine runs while striking out one and walking one.

Auburn remains unbeaten at 4-0 and hosts Louisville/Weeping Water on Thursday.

Elmwood-Murdock-Nehawka hosts Syracuse on Thursday.
