MEAD, Neb. – The Auburn volleyball team will play in the East Central Nebraska Conference Tournament Championship for the first time in school history after defeating Mead, 25-19, 24-26, 25-20, 25-16 (3-1), Tuesday at Mead High School.
Junior Emma Goering led the Bulldogs with 12 kills. Senior Theresa Frary added 11. Junior Sydnie Reeves finished with 32 assists.
“The girls came out a little slow tonight (Tuesday) after a huge night last night against Palmyra,” Head Coach Lexie Baack said. “Mead was a very scrappy team and made it hard on us to put balls away, but we persevered and pulled off the win.”
Auburn (15-8) will play Class C1 #3 Malcolm (20-2) on Thursday at 7 p.m. for the conference championship.
