The quarterfinal games of the Nebraska Wesleyan Holiday tournament took place on Thursday at the Prairie Wolves’ Snyder Arena.

Here are Prep Recruiting Specialist Mike Sautter’s takeaways from the day.

1. Humphery St. Francis sophomore guard Allison Weidner belongs in the discussion of the best young girls basketball players in the state. She is skilled beyond her years, an excellent passer in traffic and has a natural feel for jumping passing lanes. Weidner had 11 points, five assists, five steals in a 51-30 win over Southern.

2. Auburn sophomore Cam Binder’s offensive skill set was on full display in the Bulldogs’ 78-46 win over Walthill. The 6-foot guard scored 33 points, connecting on seven 3-pointers. Binder was face guarded for much of the second half after scoring 19 in the first half.

3. Humphrey St. Francis freshman Tanner Pfeifer is a player to keep an eye on. At 6-foot-1, he is an above average athlete with a high basketball IQ.

» A few players that have a chance to be small college contributors are Southern High senior Drake Adams and Humphery St. Francis senior Trevor Pfeifer.
