Chasers rally late but fall in extra innings to Iowa Cubs

DES MOINES — Ryan Court hit an 11th-inning RBI single off Brandon Maurer on Thursday as Iowa edged Omaha 4-3 on a walk-off.

With Mark Zagunis at third and one out, Court drove Maurer’s first pitch to left field to hand the Storm Chasers (14-26) their fourth loss in six games.

Omaha trailed 3-0 in the eighth when Paulo Orlando hit a solo home run. Humberto Arteaga followed with an RBI double, and Billy Burns singled home a run to tie the score.

The Chasers stranded a runner on the third in the 10th, and Burns was caught attempting to steal home in the 11th.
