Early-season struggles continue for Storm Chasers, who fall to 1-6 after fourth straight loss

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A ninth-inning rally wasn’t enough as the Omaha Storm Chasers lost their fourth straight, 5-4 at Memphis on Thursday night.

After Memphis scored a run in the bottom of the eighth to take a 5-3 lead, Nick Dini hit a one-out home run to left to pull the Chasers within one.

Jack Lopez followed with a double, but Memphis closer Edward Mujica struck out Logan Moon and Roman Torres to end the game.

Torres and Frank Schwindel led Omaha’s offense with two hits each. Schwindel hit a solo homer in the second inning.

Jonathan Dziedzic pitched six innings and was tagged with the loss, allowing four runs — two earned — and striking out four.

The Chasers (1-6) have scored 11 runs in their first seven games. Omaha starts a four-game series at Nashville at 6:35 p.m. Friday.
