Elier Hernandez and Cheslor Cuthbert power Chasers past Oklahoma City

OKLAHOMA CITY — Elier Hernandez and Cheslor Cuthbert hit two-run home runs to help Omaha pick up an 8-5 win over Oklahoma City on Wednesday.

The Storm Chasers trailed 3-2 before Hernandez homered in the fourth inning. Cuthbert added a homer an inning later.

Oklahoma City scored once in the bottom of the ninth and had the bases loaded with two outs, but Kevin McCarthy got Matt Beaty to ground out to end the game.

Hernandez led the Chasers with two runs scored and three RBIs. Nicky Lopez added three hits, too.

The former Creighton standout is 15 of 30 during Omaha’s past seven games.

The Chasers wrap up the series with Oklahoma City at 7:05 p.m. Thursday.
