Falls City out hits Crete, but Cardinals steal the win

CRETE – Despite only giving up one hit to Crete on Saturday, the Falls City baseball team lost to the Cardinals, 3-2, in Crete.

Noah Milam started the game for the Tigers recording 14 outs, allowing one hit, two runs and striking out eight over 4 2/3. Zach Beaver took the loss. He allowed no hits and one run over 1 1/3 innings.

Falls City finished with six hits. Kade Bredemeier and Ransom Campbell each collected two hits.

Crete’s Ethan Mach earned the win, pitching 1 2/3 innings, allowed one hit and no runs while added one strikeout. Blake Feeken started the game for Crete. He surrendered zero runs on three hits over four innings, striking out seven and walking one. Nathan Hunke threw 1 1/3 innings in relief.

The Tigers (0-1) will play at Doniphan West, Kan. on Thursday. Crete (2-0) will host Norris on Tuesday.
