Five-run fifth inning carries Central City/Fullerton past Auburn

AUBURN – An error in the fifth inning allowed the Central City baseball team to break a 5-5 tie, and the Bison went onto beat Auburn, 8-7, Friday afternoon at Tushla Field in Auburn.

The Bulldogs scored four runs in the third inning to take a 4-3 lead. John Kinnaman, Branden Lavigne and Zach Dickerson each had an RBI in the inning. Kinnaman, Josh Lambert and Kyson Warner collected multiple hits and Auburn out hit Central City, 10-7. Lambert finished 3-4.

The Bulldogs fall to 5-3 and will be at Ralston (7-5) on Tuesday. Central City/Fullerton (3-2) were scheduled to play at Wayne Saturday.
