Four-hit day from Warner leads Auburn past Doniphan West

HIGHLAND, Kan. – Kyson Warner went 4-4 at the plate with three singles, a double, four RBI’s and five runs scored, and the Auburn baseball team defeated Doniphan West, 20-3, in five innings Monday evening in Highland, Kan.

John Kinnaman added four RBI’s and two runs, while going 3-4 with two doubles.

The Bulldogs offensive onslaught began in the first inning when Warner singled on an 0-2 count, scoring one of three runs. They notched six more runs in the third inning, led by Branden Lavigne’s triple and a double by Warner. Auburn finished with 15 total hits.

Zach Dickerson stuck out two batters in two innings in the win. He didn’t give up a run on just one hit. Josh Lambert threw the final three innings.

The Bulldogs move their record to 4-1 and will be at Branched Oak (1-3) on Tuesday. They host Falls City (4-4) on Thursday at 4:30 p.m. Thursday’s game will air live on B103 (103.1 FM,
