Four western Iowa girls teams will compete at state golf tournament

Four western Iowa girls golf teams on Tuesday will begin Day 1 of the two-day state meet, which is being played at four sites around the state.

In Class 1-A, Griswold has advanced in the team competition at the American Legion Golf Course in Marshalltown. Carroll Kuemper will be in 2-A at the Lake Panorama National Golf Course in Panora, and Carroll and Creston will participate in the 3-A meet at Coldwater Links in Ames. No western Iowa players advanced in 4-A, which will be contested at Elmwood Country Club in Marshalltown.

Class 1-A at Marshalltown

Team: Griswold. Individuals: Mateya Peters, Griswold; Sammi Jahde, CAM; Kayla Chapman, Treynor; Jacey Anthofer, Exira-EHK; Shelby Keiser, Griswold.

Class 2-A at Panora

Team: Carroll Kuemper. Individuals: Sydney Fundermann, MVAOCOU; Katie Schweers, Kuemper; Macy Ludwig, Kuemper; McKenna Ludwig, Kuemper; Gracie Brown, Clarinda.

Class 3-A at Ames

Teams: Carroll, Creston. Individuals: Josie Pettitt, Carroll; Ellen Keast, Harlan; Somer Sinnard, Carroll; Rylie Driskell, Creston; Sophia Groumoutis, Creston; Alyssa Ginther, Atlantic; Ashton Carter, Creston; Baylee Newell, Atlantic.
