Frank Schwindel’s three-run homer helps Storm Chasers edge Sacramento

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Frank Schwindel had three hits, including a three-run home run, as the Omaha Storm Chasers outscored Sacramento 10-7 Thursday night.

Schwindel’s homer gave Omaha a 9-3 lead in the sixth inning. The Chasers hadn’t scored double-digit runs in a game since June 29 — before Thursday they averaged 3.2 runs per game this month.

Nicky Lopez and Ramon Torres each added two hits and two runs scored for the Chasers, who finished with 14 hits.

Starter Jonathan Dziedzic earned the win as he allowed three runs over six innings. Michael Mariot earned his second save.

The Chasers swept the three-game series, and they begin a four-game series at Fresno on Friday at 9:05 p.m.
