Late score costs Falls City in loss to Louisville/Weeping Water

FALLS CITY – The Louisville/Weeping Water Legion Baseball team scored nine runs in the final two innings to comeback and stun Falls City, 10-7, Tuesday night at Southeast Nebraska Communications Field in Falls City.

Louisville/Weeping Water took their first lead in the seventh inning on a Blue Storm error, part of a four-run inning. They scored five runs in the sixth inning thanks to RBI’s from Jaren Powell and Mason Heath.

Heath finished 2-4 with a home run, three RBI’s and two runs scored. Powell went 2-3 with three RBI’s and a run scored. Dakota Zimmerman added a 3-3 performance. Louisville/Weeping Water totaled 13 hits.

Chase Dittberner threw six innings, gave up seven runs on seven hits while striking out eight in the victory. Brayden Hlavae earned the save.

Kade Bredemeier took the loss for Falls City. He surrendered six runs on seven hits over two innings. Noah Milam started the game, allowing four runs on six hits and striking out five over five innings.

The Blue Storm tallied seven hits in the game. Zach Beaver and Bredemeier each collected two hits. Bredemeier scored three runs, while Beaver drove-in two and scored once.

Falls City drops to 2-3 this season and will be at Tecumseh on Wednesday.
