AUBURN – Sam Neiman went 3-3 at the plate, including a home run and two doubles, in his final regular season home game Sunday afternoon and the Auburn Legion Baseball team blew past Wymore, 18-0 in five innings. Neiman drove-in five runs and scored three times.
Baily Darnell also finished 3-3 with a double, an RBI and three runs scored. Both Kyson Warner and Zach Dickerson drove-in three runs. Auburn finished with 15 total hits.
Seth Zimmerman picked up the win on the mound. He threw three innings, gave up one hit, no runs and struck out four.
Jaxson Balm, also playing in his final regular season home game, went 1-4 with a run scored and an RBI.
Auburn improves to 13-2 and will compete in the Southeast Nebraska Baseball Conference Tournament on Wednesday.
Nebraska City eight-run rules Louisville/Weeping Water
NEBRASKA CITY – A seven-run fifth inning led the Nebraska City Legion Baseball team to an eight-run rule victory over Louisville/Weeping Water Sunday afternoon at Clemmy Holmes Field, 12-3 in five innings.
RBI singles from Alex Breazile and Bryce Levy, and RBI doubles from Clay Stovall and Jace Becker were a part of the Post 8 Seniors’ fifth inning.
Trent Fahey smacked an RBI double on a 3-1 count to begin Nebraska City’s scoring in the first inning. An RBI single from Becker in the third helped them pull away for good.
Ethan Seyler surrendered two runs on four hits in three innings to secure the win on the mound. He struck out one batter.
The Post 8 Seniors are now 9-9 this season and will compete in the Southeast Nebraska Baseball Conference Tournament on Wednesday. Louisville/Weeping Water will also participate.
Springfield 10, Tecumseh 0
Caden Mathewson doubled and had two RBIs, and Nick DeMonte and Nick Lynam each had two RBIs to lead Springfield Prime Time Sporting Goods (Platteview).
