PERU, NE – The Peru State football coaching staff recently hosted three one-day camps in the Oak Bowl on campus.

The first camp was a high school skills camp where the focus was on individualized training and team drills. Those attending are listed by their high school: Plattsmouth – Timothy Prokupek; Gretna – Mason Clobes; HTRS – Chris Bredemeier, Isaiah Lockard, Trey Drake, and Kade Shiley; Grain Valley (Mo.) – Gabe Iles; Lincoln North Star – Tristan Stroup; Columbus Scotus – Matt Strecker; Elkhorn – Parker Lange and Trenton Whorlow; Sterling – Ben Hier, Joel Rathe, Spencer McClellan, and Cam Van Groningen; Falls City Sacred Heart – Delbert Casteel, Drew Bippes, and Kyle Bauman; Overton – Elijah Heusinkvelt; Tarkio (Mo.) – Jake McEnaney, Briacin Bywater, Austin Anderson, and Gus Hurst; Lincoln Southwest – Brady Bickford; Oak Park (Mo.) – Teagan Pannell; Johnson County Central – Josh Bailey; Sidney (Iowa) – Donnie Sears; Fairfax (Mo.) – Gavin Knapp, Dillan Palmer, and Ian Hedlund; Fremont-Mills (Iowa) – Tristan Vanatta; and Shenandoah (Iowa) – Kyle Cerven, Nick Phillips, Kyle Owens, and Blake Swanson.

The second camp was held for offensive and defensive line players and focused on techniques relevant to their positions. Those attending are listed by their high school: Plattsmouth – Timothy Prokupek; Heartland – Peyton Ott and Morgan Maltsberger; Gretna – Brendan Peterson; Windsor (Colo.) – Aiden Schneider; Millard South – Pierce Johnson, Daniel Sunderman, Christopher Miller, and Cody Chizek; Ashland-Greenwood – Jackson Jones; Pius X – Dawson Schwerdtfeger; Fairfax (Mo.) – Andrew Gibbons; West Harrison (Mo.) – Becken Pavlik and Corbin Pavlik; Lourdes Central Catholic – Tyler Skikus; HTRS – Kaje Faulks, Morgan Mattan, and Carter Drake; Tarkio (Mo.) – Jayce Navin; Millard North – Dylan Dittman; Shenandoah (Iowa) – Nathan Dostal, Jake Wiegel, Cole Nebel, Mason Hodges, Seth Hughes, and Jake Stenzel; and Auburn – Ethan Phillips.

The final day of the camp was for youth campers to help with their overall skill development. Those attending listed by their schools were: Plattsmouth – Samuel Prokupek; Johnson-Brock – Peyton Grotrian, Rowen Benham, Kollin Strayhorn, Thomas Gerdes, Chase Van Winkle, and Kegan Vice; Freeman – Seth Dean; Elkhorn – Ty Sargent and Mason Sargent; Falls City – Randon Buchner; Sterling – Samuel Agena, Kody Goracke, Garrett Hier, and Tanner McDonald; Beals Elementary Omaha – Conner Brown; and HTRS – Hunter Bohling, Kiffin Hunzeker, Brennen Vaughan; River McNeely, and Brogan Dunlap.

Peru State Bobcat football assistant coach Lou Varley was in charge of the camps and was assisted by assistant coaches Andy Kohls, Derek Derr, and Jeff Reed. On Friday, former Bobcat player Quentin Coatney – now the coach at HTRS assisted with the youth camp.
