NEBRASKA CITY – The Lourdes Central Catholic boys basketball team is trying to do what no other team has done before: win three-straight Class D1 state championships.

It hasn’t been an easy task for the team’s eight seniors. According to Head Coach Joe Tynon, they’ve had to move into different roles to learn leadership qualities and as the year has gone on, they have grown, learned and embraced the roles a little differently.

“Most all of them have been a key component in one-shape or another in the last four years as far as our successes of being a ranked team, a state championship team and all of those things. Some of their roles have stayed the same and some have improved roles this year.”

The Knights will travel to Boys Town on Friday to play the Cowboys. Tip-off will be at approximately 6 p.m. and will air live on KNCY 1600 AM, 105.5 FM and ncn21.com.
