McCook Breaks-Up Blair’s Perfect Game, Stays Alive in Class B Tournament

ALLIANCE, Neb. – McCook’s Logan Greenlee broke up Blair starting pitcher Jacob MacDonald’s perfect game in the sixth inning and later scored off a Spencer Krysl infield single, leading McCook to a 2-1 victory in an elimination game at the Class B Senior Legion State Baseball Tournament in Alliance.

The pitching was strong on both sides with only eight total hits between the two teams. McCook starter Justin Barenburg went the distance, allowing one run on four hits and finishing with two strike outs. MacDonald ended up with the loss. He tossed six innings, giving up two runs on four hits and eight strike outs.

MacDonald also led Blair at the plate with two hits in three at bats.

McCook survives and will play in another elimination game Monday at 4 p.m. They will play the loser of Gering and Wahoo.

Blair has been eliminated from the tournament.
