Norris routes Nebraska City to earn sweep

FIRTH – The Norris girls basketball team held Nebraska City to just four total points in the second half and beat the Pioneers, 51-29, Friday night at Norris High School.

The Titans were led by Brianna Stai, who finished with a double-double – 14 points and rebounds.

Norris improves to 7-10, while Nebraska City falls to 4-15.

Norris, the #10 team in Class B in the latest News Channel Nebraska rankings, led by as much as 42 at one point, on their way to a 66-27 win over Nebraska City.

The Titans grabbed more rebounds than the Pioneers, 28-9. Peru State commit Michael Wardy finished with a game-high 14 points.

Norris is now 12-7 this season. Nebraska City drops their 17th-straight and currently sit at 1-18.

Both Norris teams are at Columbus on Saturday. Nebraska City will travel to Fremont-Mills High School on Tuesday.
