Northwest Missouri State football earns ranks first in MIAA’s season-opening polls

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Northwest Missouri State football team was ranked first in both the 2017 MIAA preseason coaches and media polls announced Tuesday.

The University of Nebraska at Kearney was last in both.

Northwest received nine of the possible 11 first-place votes from the coaches while earning 118 total points. In the media poll, the Bearcats were the top pick with 36 of 39 first place votes.
