Omaha Roncalli Punches Ticket to Class B Title Game

ALLIANCE, Neb. – Omaha Roncalli secured a spot in the Class B Senior Legion State Baseball Tournament Championship game with a 10-0 win over Wahoo in five innings Monday night at Bower-Shankland Field in Alliance.

Roncalli had the lead from the beginning. Thomas Alitz’s sac fly in the first inning scored the first run of the game. They scored five more runs in the second inning on singles from Creighton Silvain and Alitz.

Alitz led Omaha Roncalli at the plate, going 2-3 with four runs batted in.

Max Anderson pitched five shutout innings, giving up five hits and striking out two, in the victory.

Blake Kaiser took the loss for Wahoo. He threw four innings, giving up nine runs on nine hits, and striking out three.

Kaiser, Chase Stebbing, Karson Hesser, Billy Hancock, and Cameron Quick each collected one hit for Wahoo.

Roncalli will match-up against Gering at 7 p.m. Tuesday. Gering must beat unbeaten Roncalli to remain in the tournament.

Wahoo and Nebraska City will play in an elimination game Tuesday at 4 p.m. The game will be carried on B103 (103.1 FM, and the B103 app).
