Pawnee City building confidence ahead of sub-district tournament

PALMYRA – Sophomore Madison Branek had 14 points and 8 rebounds, and the Pawnee City girls basketball team defeated Palmyra Thursday, 46-33.

The Indians held the Panthers to single-digit score through each of the first three quarters, taking a 33-15 lead into the final period.

“We’ve put together two complete games without any offensive slumps and managed to get some of the younger players some quality minutes in the process,” Pawnee City Head Coach Dani Niss said. “I’m proud of how our girls are really pushing through this late season grind.”

Sophomore Austin Branch finished with 13 rebounds and 8 points.
