STERLING – Sterling High School standout Logan Jasa signed his letter of intent Thursday to play for Head Coach Bob Ludwig and the Peru State Bobcats men’s basketball team.
Jasa averaged over 15 points and about five rebounds per contest to lead the Jets to a 10-11 record in the 2018-19 season. Sterling lost to eventual state champion Johnson-Brock in the sub-district semifinals.
Sterling enjoyed two winning seasons and double-digit wins in all four years of Jasa’s career.
Jasa joins Falls City Sacred Heart senior Drew Bippes and Syracuse senior Will McCoy, who also signed their letter of intents to play for the Bobcats this month.
Bippes led the Irish to a fourth place finish at the 2019 Class D2 state championships in March. He averaged 12.3 points per game, 3 rebounds and 5 assists. He was a member of the state championship football team in 2016 and the state championship basketball team in 2018. He has also won several medals at the Nebraska State Track and Field championships.
McCoy played 50 career games for the Rockets in which he averaged 14.6 points per game, 5.6 rebounds and nearly 2 assists. Syracuse qualified for the state tournament during McCoy’s junior year. He also played football and participated in track and field.
Peru State has made the postseason in each of the last four seasons. The Bobcats went 23-11 and qualified for the NAIA Division I national tournament, where they fell in the first round to William Carey, Mississippi, 95-89.
