NEBRASKA CITY – A loss in the Eastern Midlands Conference Baseball Tournament on Monday, allowed both Nebraska City and Blair to make-up a game that was postponed earlier this season because of weather. The game came down to the wire on Tuesday at Clemmy Holmes Field in Nebraska City.
With the game tied at one in the bottom of the eighth inning, Kolt Davis hit a single to centerfield on an 0-2 count, scoring Brayden Betts from, and the Pioneers defeated the Bears, 2-1.
Davis finished 2-4 at the plate. Max Chaney and Tyler Levy each added a pair of hits. Nebraska City finished with nine total hits.
Pioneers starting pitcher Jordan Williams threw all eight innings, giving up one run on three hits and striking out seven.
AJ Bilslend took the loss. He threw the final one and one-third innings, allowing two hits and one run with one strikeout. Colin Quick started the game for Blair. He went six and a third innings, allowing one run on seven hits and striking out six.

Qwin Zabokrtsky throws complete-game shutout in win over Falls City
BEATRICE – The Beatrice baseball team scored two runs in the second inning on a wild pitch and a double from Austin Burroughs, and the Orangemen never looked back in a 4-0 victory over Falls City on Tuesday.
Qwin Zabokrtsky threw a complete-game shutout, allowing four hits and striking out five.
Devin Smith led Beatrice at the plate, finishing 2-2 with a walk and a run scored.
The Orangemen are scheduled to host Omaha Skutt on Friday, while the Tigers are slated to play at Auburn Thursday.
