Rain ends Plattsmouth’s game at Platteview early

SPRINGFIELD – Rain forced an early end of Plattsmouth’s game at Class B #7 Platteview on Tuesday in Springfield.

Hunter Babe wwas 2-3 at the plate, including a two-RBI triple in the second inning, and the Platteview baseball team had a 9-3 lead before the threat of severe weather ended the game in fifth.

The Blue Devils struck first on a two-run home run from Josh Aho on a 3-0 county in the first inning, but the Trojans took away the lead with eight runs in the second inning.

Plattsmouth’s Draven Ray was 2-2 with a run scored.

Platteview finished with six stolen bases.

The two teams did not play enough innings to make the game official. Both teams will now prepare the Class B-6 District Tournament in Springfield this weekend. If Plattsmouth beats Auburn on Friday, the Trojans and Blue Devils will meet in the district semi-finals on Saturday.
