Saturday’s local scoreboard: Neiman tosses shutout, goes 3-4 at the plate and Auburn stays unbeaten

AUBURN – Sam Neiman threw a complete game, six-inning shutout and the Auburn Legion Baseball team beat Waverly (Wilmar Electric/Teckmeyer), 9-0, on Saturday. Neiman only allowed four hits and struck out two.

Neiman, who will be a sophomore on the Peru State College baseball team, also helped get Auburn’s offense started in the first inning, hitting an RBI double on a 1-2 count.

Auburn scored four more runs in the sixth inning on singles from Neiman and Drew Dixon, and a double from Ryne Flynn.

Neiman finished 3-4 with two doubles and two RBI’s. Auburn scattered ten total hits.

Auburn improves to 3-0 and will host Syracuse (3-0) on Tuesday at Tushla Field.
