Six-run first inning powers Storm Chasers to third straight win

NEW ORLEANS — A six-run top of the first inning propelled the Omaha Storm Chasers to their third straight win, a 10-4 victory over New Orleans on Friday night.

Frank Schwindel hit a two-run double and Jorge Bonifacio, Bubba Starling, Jecksson Flores and Erick Mejia followed with RBI hits in the opening inning.

Bubba Starling added a solo home run in the third as he went 3 for 5 with three runs scored and two RBIs. Brett Phillips hit a two-run home run in the fifth.

Omaha starter Ben Lively picked up the win, allowing four runs and seven hits. Relievers Kyle Zimmer and Josh Staumont combined for four shutout innings.

Omaha and New Orleans continue their series Saturday at 6 p.m.
