Storm Chasers combine on six-hit shutout to snap four-game losing streak

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — A dazzling pitching performance helped the Storm Chasers snap a four-game losing streak.

Scott Barlow, Eric Stout and Mike Broadway combined on a six-hitter as Omaha blanked Nashville 5-0 on Friday night.

Barlow worked into the sixth inning to earn his first win of the season. Stout and Broadway allowed one hit the rest of the way as they combined to throw strikes on 35 of their 44 pitches.

The Chasers took the lead in the fourth when Hunter Dozier doubled and Frank Schwindel tripled. Schwindel then scored on a Ryan O’Hearn groundout.

A two-out rally allowed Omaha to tack on three runs in the sixth. After back-to-back two-out walks, O’Hearn brought both runners home with a triple. Nick Dini followed with an RBI double.

O’Hearn led the Chasers (2-6) with two hits and three RBIs. Dozier and Schwindel scored two runs each as the Chasers scored a season high in runs.

Omaha and Nashville (3-6) will play the second game of their four-game series at 6:35 p.m. Saturday.
