Storm Chasers suffer first shutout of the season to New Orleans

NEW ORLEANS — Omaha was shut out for the first time this season as New Orleans pulled away late to hand the Storm Chasers a 10-0 loss Sunday afternoon.

New Orleans led 2-0 through six innings before scoring five times in the seventh, capped by Peter O’Brien’s three-run home run.

Isan Diaz led New Orleans’ offense with four RBIs, while Monte Harrison, a former Husker football recruit, went 3 for 3 with three runs scored.

Kelvin Gutierrez and Cheslor Cuthbert each had two hits to lead Omaha’s offense. Cuthbert has hit safely in 12 straight games and raised his batting average to .328.

Jonathan Dziedzic worked the first five innings and took the loss. He dropped to 0-2, with both losses coming against New Orleans.

The Chasers and Baby Cakes wrap up their series Monday at 6:30 p.m.
