Storm Chasers’ winning streak ends with doubleheader split

ROUND ROCK, Texas — Franklin Rollin had an RBI double in a two-run sixth as Round Rock beat Omaha 5-3 in seven innings to split a doubleheader Sunday.

After rain suspended Saturday’s game in the fifth, left fielder Terrance Gore scored on a throwing error in the ninth Sunday for a 4-3 victory that extended the Chasers’ winning streak to five games.

Catcher Luis Villegas hit a two-run homer in the second game, but the Express (53-66) tagged Trevor Oaks (8-6) for five runs. Omaha’s scoreless streak ended at 32 1⁄3 innings in the fourth inning Saturday.

The Chasers (55-63) return home to host Oklahoma City at 7:05 p.m. Monday.
