Syracuse girls, Falls City boys grab team titles at Louisville Invite

LOUISVILLE, NE – The Syracuse girls track team took control of the Louisville Invite early Thursday by grabbing gold medals in four field events and the Rockets outpaced runner-up Fort Calhoun, 153-120.

Earning first-place finishes for Syracuse include: Lauren Siefken (Pole vault – 8’6″), Lauren Meyer (Long jump – 16’5.25″, triple jump – 35’2.50″) and Meredith Clark (Discus – 123′).

Meanwhile, the Falls City boys team secured six spots atop the podium and won the team title over runner-up Fort Calhoun, 106-92.

Ben Bauman (Discus – 136′-09″, Shot put – 47′-7.75″), Jessi Dean (Triple jump – 39′-11″), Zayne Heckenlively (Long jump – 21′-1.75″), Emmet Kirkendall (High jump – 5’10”) and Rudy Vrtiska (300 meter hurdles – 41.30) all earned gold for the Tigers.
