Three Storm Chaser pitchers combine to post shutout against Nashville

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Jake Kalish and two relievers combined on a four-hitter in leading the Omaha Storm Chasers to a 2-0 win over Nashville on Thursday night.

Kalish allowed two hits and struck out nine in seven innings while improving his record to 4-4. Michael Mariot worked the eighth while Jake Newberry allowed only a single in the ninth for his first save with the Chasers.

The Chasers scored the only runs in the fifth. Jack Lopez singled with two outs, stole second and scored on a Billy Burns single. Burns then scored on an error by Nashville third baseman Sheldon Neuse.

Catcher Cam Gallagher had two of Omaha’s five hits on the night.

Omaha and Nashville wrap up their four-game series Thursday night at 7:05 p.m.
