Top-ranked Wahoo sweeps Syracuse

WAHOO – The Wahoo girls and boys basketball teams entered Friday’s contests vs. Syracuse as the No. 1 teams in Class C1. They’ll remain in the top spot after sweeping the Rockets in Wahoo.

Senior Hallie Reeves had a game-high 15 points and the Warriors beat Syracuse, 54-39, to improve to 10-0 in the girls contest. Senior Kyla Swanson (11) and sophomore Elle Glock (13) also finished in double figures.

Seniors Sarah Moss and Meredith Clark had 8 points a piece to lead the Rockets, who fall to 8-2.

In the boys matchup, senior Blake Lacy had 23 points (six three-pointers), Winston Cook added 18 and Trey Scheef chipped in 11, and Wahoo topped Syracuse, 82-54. The top ranked Warriors improved to 7-3.

The Rockets fell to 6-4 this season. They had two players in double figures – senior Wil McCoy finished with a game-high 22 points, while senior Ben Nannen added 13 points.

Both Syracuse teams travel to Louisville on Saturday.
