MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) — Tyler O’Neill hit a two-run double in the third inning, leading the Memphis Redbirds to a 3-2 win over the Omaha Storm Chasers on Wednesday.
The double by O’Neill, part of a three-run inning, gave the Redbirds a 2-0 lead before Adolis Garcia hit an RBI double later in the inning.
The Storm Chasers cut into the deficit in the fifth inning when Ryan O’Hearn hit a two-run double.
Memphis right-hander Dakota Hudson (2-0) picked up the win after allowing two runs on six hits over five innings. Opposing starter Trevor Oaks (0-2) took the loss in the Pacific Coast League game after giving up three runs and five hits over six innings. Preston Guilmet pitched two scoreless innings for his second save of the season.
