Will Robertson homers twice, drives in five in Creighton’s rout of Seton Hall

NEW YORK — Will Robertson hit two homers and drove in five runs to lead Creighton to an 11-1 Big East victory over Seton Hall on Friday afternoon.

CU improved to 21-8 overall and 4-1 in league play. Friday marked the 10th time that the Bluejays have scored in double digits this season.

Robertson, who has eight homers this season, hit a two-run blast to right field in the third inning to put the Bluejays up 3-0.

Robertson then capped a seven- run fifth with a three-run home run to right-center. Creighton got RBI hits from Jared Wegner, Will Hanafan and Isaac Collins earlier in the inning.

Jason Allbery added a solo homer in the second inning. After CU hit 37 homers last season — its most since 2010 — the Jays have hit 34 this spring.

Denson Hull (3-3) pitched the first six innings to earn the win. He allowed one run on five hits and has won his past three starts.

CU and Seton Hall will play their series finale at noon Saturday.
