With all five golfers in the top-12, Elmwood-Murdock finishes second in Lincoln

LINCOLN, NE – The Elmwood-Murdock golf team placed all five golfers in the top-12 on a windy, chilly day at Crooked Creek Golf Course in Lincoln, and the Knights claimed second (357) behind team champion, Lincoln Lutheran (333).

Zach Rust led Elmwood-Mudock with a seventh place finish after shooting an 88. Teammate Nick Langfeldt was right behind him in eighth, shooting an 89. Nolan Langfeldt (89), Wesley Dreamer (91) and Riley Backemeyer (92) finished 10th, 11th and 12th respectively.

Syracuse finished third with a team score of 366. The Rockets were led by Monty Roberts’ 87, good enough for sixth place. Brendon Lyon placed ninth with an 89.

“Scores were a bit higher than we had hoped,” coach Sallie Agena said. “The players are working hard on their own to bring those scores down to be in the hunt for placing in the top three teams at the district tournament.”

Syracuse will be back at Crooked Creek in a little over three weeks for their district tournament.
