Artists, “Spot The Bus” Photographers Have Shot At $50 Prizes

NEBRASKA CITY – Photographers, artists and anyone who can use a ride are being put on notice for Blue Rivers Public Transportation Week April 8 to 12.

Dispatcher Bobbi Lechner said a $50 prize is on the line for the “Spot the Bus” contest.

Lechner: “What we’re asking, when you’re out and about Monday through Friday next week, just take a picture of the bus and send it to our e-mail address which is lowercase and give us your name and phone number.”

A $50 contest also features Nebraska City student artists and their depictions of the transit bus anywhere in Nebraska City.

Lechner: “I have probably nine entries now. We’re going to have them in the window. To determine the winner, the public needs to come by here and vote for their favorite.”

An open house is planned Tuesday at the new location of 703 Central Ave. Lunch is provided from 11a.m.  to 2:30 p.m.

Public transit is offering free rides during the week to all new riders. Regular riders pay half price on Monday.
