City Urges Trucks To Use Detour Rather Than 16th Street

NEBRASKA CITY – Nebraska City officials are encouraging truck traffic to use the 11th Street detour rather than 16th Street.

The city closed a portion of the street on Oct. 22 for a bridge replacement and established truck detours that use Fourth Corso.

City Administrator Grayson Path said Tuesday the city is urging freight trucks that normally would have used the bridge to now use Fourth Corso.

Path: “We are asking that all truck traffic that would have used the bridge to instead use Highway 75 to Fourth Corso and vice-versa when entering or leaving our community, instead of using 16th Street or other non-designated routes. “

Path also urges delivery drivers to help other truck drivers understand the Fourth Corso detours.
