NEBRASKA CITY – A local fundraiser is asking Nebraska City businesses to either “adopt a teacher” or clean off their desks and donate items for a school supply drive.
H&R Block partnered with Northside Elementary to collect supplies for teachers and other faculty. They’re looking for crayons, craft supplies, hand sanitizer and everything in between.
Donations are being accepted until Jan. 21 and can be dropped off at H&R Block (817 Central Ave), the B103 (911 Central Avenue 2nd Floor Nebraska City) or at any of the participating businesses.
“Teachers go out of their way and spend their own money,” event organizer Lori Cozad said. “It’s nice for the teachers to not have to worry about supplies, because they already have them.”
If businesses decide to “adopt a teacher,” they’ll be asked to provide supplies requested by the teacher.
Northside Elementary will also be presented with a $250 check to Office Depot from H&R Block on Jan. 22.
