Funeral Services Set At High School For Well-Known Police Officer

NEBRASKA CITY – Funeral services for former Nebraska City police officer Marty Allgood are scheduled  at 11 a.m. on  Monday at the Nebraska City High School gymnasium.

The funeral procession will go east on Central Avenue to Sixth Street in route to burial at Wyuka Cemetery.

Allgood, who died Aug. 1, joined the Nebraska City Police Department in 1967. He worked for Region V Services from 1978 to 1982, when he returned to the police force. He retired from the department in 2008.

He had worked under police chiefs  Clarence Iverson, Kent Roumpf, William Muldoon and David Lacy.

A memorial is being established for scholarships to benefit the youth of the community.
