Mayor Proclaims Alzheimer’s Awareness Month


NEBRASKA CITY – Mayor Bryan Bequette proclaimed November as Alzheimer’s Disease Awareness Month at the Nov. 6 city council meeting.

His proclamation said 5 million Americans are living with the disease. The Alzheimer’s Association of Nebraska provides family support and the mayor’s proclamation says there is hope on the horizon with advancements in research.

He credited Nebraska City Care & Rehabilitation and other community partners for providing care for those living with the disease.

Nebraska City Care & Rehabilitation CEO Jade Harrah and Alzheimer’s Care Unit Director Vicki Smith accepted the proclamation.
