NEBRASKA CITY – Minutes after snow began falling Tuesday, Nebraska City was ready to call a snow emergency beginning at 6:30 p.m.
The city is in a winter storm watch through Wednesday morning. Forecasts have snowfall totals as high as nine inches.
A snow emergency means motorists are not allowed to park along snow routes designated with “snow route” signs, which include most of Central Avenue, as well as First Avenue and First Corso in Nebraska City.
Cars parked in snow routes hamper snow removal efforts and may be towed.
