Nebraska City Speech competes in first meet since before Christmas break

LINCOLN – The Nebraska City Speech team competed in their second competition of the season on Saturday at the Lincoln Southwest Meet.

The Pioneers were supposed to participate in the Raymond Central meet last weekend, but due to weather conditions, were unable to make the trip.

Ellie Higgins placed third in the impromptu category and fifth in humorous prose.

Lilly Frields and Christian Tietz took 11th place in duet acting.

Millard North claimed the team championship, followed by Lincoln East as runner-up.
