Nebraska City Students Excel At Math, Science Olympiads

NEBRASKA CITY – Nebraska City student achievements were recognized at Monday’s school board meeting.

The high school marching band placed first at the Hamburg Popcorn Day parade and the middle school marching band as second.

Four Nebraska City students, Randy Fillion, Kylie Howell, Missy Leonard and Vinh Phan participated in science and math competition at Northwestern Missouri State.

Principal Brian Hoover said Vinh’s team was first in the science olympiad and Missy’s team was first in the math Olympiad.

Hoover: Vihn was also cited as a top writer as well as superior scientist award for research and report in writing. Kylie and Vihn were given diligent student awards.”

Central staff recognized Kylie to the all-Upward Bound Science and Math Program team.

Two senior FFA students will be traveling to the national FFA convention Bree Bauer and Sabrina Wampler won at the state level and will present in the category of Agriscience next month in Indianapolis.
