Nebraska City Utilities Awarded First In Safety

NEBRASKA CITY – Nebraska City utilities was recognized with the first place award from the American Public Power Association’s safety award for excellence presented at Colorado Springs, Colo., on April 1.

Nebraska City was chosen from among 325 utilities entering into safety awards, which is the highest number of entrants in the history of the program. Entrants were placed in categories according to the number of worker-hours.

The award is based on the number of work-related injuries or illnesses.

General Manager Jeff Kohrs said Nebraska City Utilities is proud of the award.

Kohrs: “This award is a testament to the hard work that goes into ensuring that our team members go home safe to their families every day.”

The safety award has been presented annually for 60 years.
